Mr. Hope, a resident of New Orleans, received his degree in Business Administration from Duke University in 1971 and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1972. From 1972 to 1974 he was a Registered Representative for Financial Service Corporation of America. Mr. Hope has been in banking since 1974 when he worked for First National Bank of Mobile and First Bancgroup. He worked for AmSouth Bank from 1985 until 1994, when he began his career with Whitney as Executive Vice President, Gulf Coast Banking Division, with responsibility for all banking activities outside the State of Louisiana. In 2007, Mr. Hope became a Director and the President and Chief Operating Officer of Whitney Holding Corporation and Whitney National Bank. Effective March 16, 2008, he assumed the roles of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of both the company and the bank. Mr. Hope's current position is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitney Holding Corporation and Whitney National Bank.
Mr. Hope is Chairman of the Board of Directors of EnergySouth, Inc. and serves on the Board of Trustees of Infirmary Health System. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UMS Wright Preparatory School, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and Campaign Chairman of Way of Southwest Alabama.
R. King Milling

R. King Milling was elected Director of Whitney National Bank on March 22, 1978 and Director of Whitney Holding Corporation on February 13, 1979. Mr. Milling is a graduate of Washington & Lee and Tulane Universities. Mr. Milling has held the title of President for Whitney National Bank and Whitney Holding Corporation from 1984 until April 2007 at which time he was named Vice Chairman. Mr. Milling is a lifelong resident of New Orleans and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Financial Services Roundtable. He serves on the boards of LSU Health Sciences Center, Dillard University, Greater New Orleans Education Foundation, and the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. He is a member of the Tulane Law School Dean's Advisory Board and is a member of the board of directors of the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is the Chairman of the Governor's Advisory Commission on Coastal Restoration and Conservation, serves on the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, is a director of the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation and a member of the Louisiana Recovery Authority Support Foundation.
John M. Turner Jr.
President Whitney Holding Corporation and Whitney National Bank
Mr. Turner, a resident of New Orleans, holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Economics degree from the University of Georgia. With over 21 years of banking experience, he began his career at the Whitney in 1994 as President, Alabama Region. In 2000, Mr. Turner was named Eastern Region Executive. In 2007, he was named Division Executive, Banking Division, with responsibility for all geographic line banking functions across the Company. On March 26, 2008, Mr. Turner was elected President and Director of Whitney National Bank and President of Whitney Holding Corporation. Before becoming a Whitney Banker, Mr. Turner held several senior positions at AmSouth Bank in both the retail and business divisions.
Community involvement has been a hallmark of Mr. Turner's career and he was recognized in 2004 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals when he was awarded the Lillian C. McGowin Outstanding Volunteer Civic Leader Award. Contributing to his community presence are associations with several civic and community organizations, including Chairman of the United Way Board of Trustees, past-Chairman of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, past Chairman and current Board member Mobile Area Education Foundation, a graduate of Leadership Alabama and past board member of Leadership Mobile. Mr. Turner also serves as a board member of the Mobile Infirmary Foundation Board, Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center, America's Junior Miss, University of Alabama Board of Visitors, St. Paul's Episcopal School and as a member of the Selection Committee for the J.L. Bedsole Foundation Scholars Program. Additionally, he is a member of the Mobile Rotary Club and a past board member of the Mobile Area Urban Bankers Association.
